You can convert rollovers created in Fireworks, including previous versions, into buttons to take advantage of the new button conveniences.
To convert a Fireworks rollover into a button:
1 | In the Frames panel, choose Onion Skinning. |
This lets you easily select all rollover state graphics. | |
2 | Select all components of the rollover. |
3 | Choose Insert > Convert to Symbol. |
4 | Enter a name, choose Type: Button, and click OK. |
![]() |
The components of the rollover convert to a button on its own shared layer, and the new button is placed in the Library. The rollover's hotspot objects and slice objects are not added to the new button.
